Time Flies When You're Having Fun....

I can't believe how much has changed since I was a "regular blogger." Alex graduated high school, went onto bootcamp and tech school for the airforce. He is currently stationed at Misawa Airbase in Japan! A place he has wanted to visit since he was about 7 years old. Now he lives there. I miss him terribly, but I am so proud of him. He is off becoming the young man he is meant to be. I have faith in him <3 He has fallen in love over there and is engaged to a young woman named Ashley. She has a 3 and a half year old daughter named Adrianna. Alex loves them both! Looks like the start of maybe becoming a grandma?? : D

We'll see!

Spencer and Kory both graduated high school last spring. Spencer is no longer dating Tiffani. He dated a girl named Karlee for a few monthes but that was a horrid and scarring experience. I didn't know one person could hurt an entire family with her lies and betrayal. Devastation. Survival. All good things for life lessons!

Kory has moved back to Idaho. We miss him so much.

Spencer has completed basic training and is attending tech school in California! Our house feels so empty with them and all their friends gone....

Sabrina will be entering 4th grade in the fall. Can you believe that? Me either. She misses her brothers ALMOST as much as I miss them. She is a busy girl. She plays piano and LOVES gymnastics. She is a teenager in a younger body. This can be amazing and it can be really tiresome all at the same time : )

I am in limbo; waiting to see if and where I have a job this fall. Not the funnest place to be but God always provides. I figure he will show me what He wants me to do.

Looking a lot like I will be moving into the next phase of my life while still in this parenting phase. I might be a grandma real soon. Alex's fiancee' has a daughter. She is such a beauty. They want to start a family right away. We'll see what happens! I'm excited at all of these blessing God has brought into my life and continues to bring to me!

OVER A YEAR ALREADY??

Wow! I can't believe it's June of 2011! Darn facebook! Lot's has happened. Spencer and Kory graduated high school. Yeah boys! Alex has completed bootcamp for the airforce, tech school and is stationed at his first base location. Misawa Japan. Scary. He arrived there just a week or so before the big tsunami. Terrifying for us back here. He's fine. Better than fine actually! He's engaged! So excited for this stage in his life. Love to hear him happy.
Spencer left for airforce bootcamp right before Christmas. He completed that and has begun his tech school in California. He'll be there for quite awhile!
Now we are a family of just 3 in our home. Lot's of adjusting for all of us. Especially SAbrina. She misses her brothers desperately. I do too. Well, I think we all do to be honest. They are such fantastic young men. I'm very proud of them and the choices they are making.
School is out this week. Yeah! It's been a rough year overall. Ready for the rest!
I'll have to post some pics! Nice to be back. I must go read other's blogs that I have missed for this last year!

Alex left for bootcamp. He's about half way through now. So proud of him! Spencer and Kory graduate soon. Sabrina has been busy in all kinds of things, as usual. She performed in a talent show. She placed and gets to perform again. So much fun for her.

For my birthday this year, mom and Jim bought me a pocket size kodak digital camera. I love it. I love to be able to take pics whenever. Mine and Krissy's camera is too expensive to take everywhere. I am so impressed with the quality of the pics. the ease of loading these onto the computer is fabulous!! So.... thank you thank you thank you mom and Jim : ) I'm very grateful and havin' fun..

I can't remember what this game is called but the boys stayed up until 4am playing this with Auntie and Jacob. It must be fun!

Dazey is our "puppy", 3 yrs old and Artemis is my sister's baby. Artemis is the little black and white gremlin, I mean puppy that my sister loves like a child. These two have a great time playing when they visit!

so, finally, James and I went on a date alone, without children! We ate at Ruby Tuesday's in Tacoma. We'd never eaten there and it was super yummy. Terrific salad bar. Then we headed into Seattle. I don't know how, but somehow my husband had never been to downtown Seattle! We lived over here for 10 years and I've taken the boys more than once. Somehow James avoided the scene. So.... that's where we went. WE had a fabulous time and we didn't talk about any of our children once all day. It was silly and giggly and fun. We went to Ye Ole Curiousity Shoppe, The Seattle Aquarium and Pike's Place Market. He bought me a beautiful bouquet of flowers at the market then we ended the day with some chowder at Steamer's Cafe. I had the salmon chowder and James enjoyed the clam chowder with clam strips. He loves clams.

Happy Holidaze! I am without my laptop still, but my super amazing stepdad, Jim, fixed the computer situation! Love ya... MMWWWAAAA I can't download my pics onto this computer though. bummer... I've been sharing this laptop with my hubby. He's using it for work. I am so happy to have all my boys here right now and I'm starting christmas vacation. Yeah! Scott and Randy are here for five days. So happy to see them. Still have my own two (plus the daughter) and Kory and Tyler. We're a little cramped but having a good time : )

Sadly, I'm back on the broken computer list. My lap top is dead. I have very little access to a computer right now : ( sad for me. I miss reading all the blogs I'm used to browsing! Just wanted you to know we're still here, healthy and happy! Can't post any pics right now which stinks cause I have some good ones! Spencer and Tiffani went to Homecoming. He looked gorgeous! We went as a large extended family to the Roloff's Farm for our pumpkins this year. Great pictures and the sweetest of people. So friendly and down to earth. wow. Carved pumpkins as a family on a Sunday evening. That was great fun. Now it's work and preparing for Halloween with the little one. Adorable costume she chose. A charm school witch. So.... Alex is 18 now and an adult. He's been out of the house mostly for the last 2 weeks. I miss him so much. Tonight he stopped in to use my computer and left quickly. I can't believe I haven't posted in this long! It's been a busy week. Sabrina turned seven last week. Can't hardly believe she's that old already! Time flies. James and I took her school clothes shopping at the SuperMall. We had a great time. She loves clothes! Dad even did a great job at making it fun. He loves to see her dress cute!
Poor Spencer went through this bought of what we thought was appendicitis. It kept him out of football for a week and kept us in and out of the emergency room for a few days. Double bummer there. It looks like it was just inflammed tissues around his appendix. Weird...
Sabrina got glasses for school this year. She's absolutely the cutest and smartest looking thing in them! I'll try to post a couple pics. Hope all is well. Wish me luck, I have an interview this week!

I've tried 5 times to upload pics of the kids climbing rocks with my sister's boyfriend; Spiderman. He scales straight up rockwalls and has my children join him. They had a blast. It terrified me!!! He is very adamant about being safe so I know they were ok but holy crap it's frightening to watch the ones you love hundred feet straight up on a ledge. I wish the pics would load so you could see why I was terrified!

The fourth try was the charm. I couldn't get blogger to upload these! ugh. This is the gorgeous waterfall that Jacob and Krissy took us to this weekend. It was like right out of the movies. We had so much fun here. It was crystal clear fresh water!

My sister has the best sense of humor. She decided that she was awake and it was time for the others to get up too. She collapsed the tents on the sleeping teens. OMG it was soooo funny! When Spencer came out of his tent he made these obnoxious sounds like he was being "born" out of the womb. Yeah... they have a sick sense of humor..

Spencer and Jacob tried relentlessly to break into her car for 2 hours before it became dark, started raining and Krissy gave the ok to break out a window. So... we go to our favorite beach at our favorite lake. The best trampoline for the kids to play on. Spencer and his teenage buddies were being obnoxious and got the trampoline closed for EVERYBODY before I even got our blanket set up. Boobs! That's the owner of the resort waiting on the beach to tear them a new one. pardon the language!

Can you say desperate?? My very favorite, can't live without snack in the evening is popcorn. Our microwave broke. I was desperate for popcorn so I resorted to good ole' fashion jiffy pop. Dad used to make it for us on our weekend visits. Yummy...

We're in the middle of grocery shopping and Sabrina starts crying that she can't stand her bangs in her eyes anymore, she's tired of growing them out.... She needs a haircut NOW!! whoa.... I didn't see that one coming. So, when we were done in the store we went to her hair salon which happened to be across the street. When we got in there, the hairstylist suggested Sabrina cut her hair in a bob. She has such baby fine hair and is NOT good at keeping it brushed so I didn't argue the idea. Sabrina thought it would be adorable so she said let's go for it. So here she is with short hair! She looks so sassy with short hair!

so, I bought Alex the last box of contacts I am responsible for as his parent, just 2 weeks ago. About that same time, Sabrina shared with me that the whiteboard is blurry when the teacher writes on it. Great..... so we go to her pediatrician for a check up this week and guess what? She is referred to an eye dr. Sabrina and I go to the eye dr today for her exam. She needs glasses. Yup. 6 yrs old and we're starting this long road. ugh. the good news is she looks adorable in glasses. The bad news is it's a long road ahead!

she looks so grown up in the dr's chair! She didn't mind any of the exam except for the air shot into your eyeball. She's NOT a big fan of that part!

Here are some different looks we tried out. Undecided so far. We'll choose some next week.

We went and got Sabrina's other ear pierced. She let it close it up last time when it got infected. She's had just one ear pierced for the last year +. She wants to wear different earrings so she decided she was ready to re-pierce this ear. Girls....

Mt. Rainier in the background. We had a lovely drive over White Pass on our return home! Sabrina and I got to go spend a little over a week with Grandpa and Grandma Mossor. We had such a wonderful time being with them. We miss them! It was a fun trip there and back, just mom and daughter.

We got to see Nana and Papa, Auntie, a couple of Sabrina's friends, and a couple of my really good friends. I got to spend time with Kate. Loved that. It's been way too long. We also got to spend time with Meg and her family. Super sweethearts. Just so happy to see everyone.

As you can see.. they deemed Sabrina big enough to drive her OWN go-kart. First time ever. You have to be 52" tall and she is just barely that. In these pics you will see the rules my family did NOT follow, Sabrina being instructed how to drive and the racing that followed. They had a great time. The kid who ran this part was super nice. Just graduated high school and enlisted in the airforce. He even signed up for the same job Alex did. They exchanged numbers. what a small world. Anywho... this was a great time had by all.

I can't believe my son has graduated! It seems like just yesterday that James and I were graduating. We're so proud of Alex. He is enlisted into the airforce and leaves for bootcamp in October. Wow! What a lot of changes for our family. We love him :)

My niece, Laurel, graduated high school today. We got to go to Portland and watch her cross the stage for her diploma. What a beautiful young lady. I'll post her pic tomorrow. I'm so tired right now I just can't load it right now. Two more days until my baby boy graduates. I'm so excited for him, proud of him and sad for myself. I will miss him and I know our family life will never be exactly the same.

I am feeling very flattered. I received a comment from a fellow blogger that led me to her blog spot. (very fun site to read by the way! : ) ) I have enjoyed reading her thoughts... I sometimes have NO patience for my teenagers when they don't do what I've asked them to RIGHT when I ask them too. I get frustrated asking them to do simple things and having to repeat myself over and over and over and over and over and over and over.... well you get the point! Then I YELL!!!!

Remind yourself you are a good mom, list seven things you love about your kids, you love doing with your kids, or that your kids love about you.These are the things to remind yourself everyday that you Rock!

1. I LOVE that my boys choose to spend their time here at home and they bring their friends here.

It has been a very laid back Easter this year. Relaxing! The kids were all gone from Saturday until Sunday late morning; staying with friends. This made for a very relaxing husband-wife evening. So I've been a little busy! I love my job but some days I'm so worn out from it then I come home to family stuff. Laundry, cooking, dishes, make lunches for the next day. You know what I'm talking about. I'm whining because I've been incredibly blessed and able to JUST be mom for a lot of the years home with my babies. Now balancing work and mom jobs..... I'm still learning : )

I got my haircut today and that feels GOOD! Our refrigerator broke and we have to buy a new one. That feels BAD! No gas money for a trip to Spokane now. Sucky appliances!

My first born turns 18 in 2 days. My gosh.... it really feels like I'm still 18 and just found out I was pregnant with him. Time flies. He's been spending so much time with his siblings the last 2 monthes. The reality of him growing older has hit him. I've been mourning it for the last 3 years because I knew it would be here too soon. Love and hug those babies while they're still babies. They grow up soooo fast. I will miss him. ; ( . . .

I've got to go do some of those household jobs I talked about. Hope you all are enjoying our April 1st snow storm.... What's up with that anyway??????????

I think it is so tragic when a senseless accident takes away someone's mom, someones wife. I am heartbroken for Liam Neeson and their two sons. Prayers to her family and God bless them in this time of tragedy. I loved her acting. Parent Trap is one of my favorite she was in. Makes you grateful for your life, even the bad days... doesn't it?

I'm so happy! I have a job! I've been working/ subbing etc. I got hired for the job I've been doing. God is faithful and took care of us because everything with my new job is just what we needed. And... I love what I do ; )

What a week! Spencer stayed home all week with strep throat, I came home from work Friday, SICK!! I had a high fever and was dying! Now I have two gross red eyes and stuffy sinus'. ugh.... Sabrina has been fantastic. All I've done is sleep and she's kept herself entertained. Great baby girl.
Tomorrow is my interview to keep the job I've been doing for the last 5 weeks. Wish me luck! : )
Sad news in our family. Grandma and Grandpa Mossor's dog, Goliath had to be put to sleep Friday. The boys chose him for them 10+ years ago. He was the fattest of the puppies and so cute. Goliath was a white german shepard, norwegian elkhound mix. He really had taken fantastic care of Grandpa these last few years. We're going to miss him alot.

What a week! We got a tiny bit more snow this week and the schools called 2 hour delay! Alex got really sick on Thursday. We went to the dr. Thursday and Friday. It looks like he might have mono. This looks to not be a good thing at all and he might be missing a large amount of school for the next few WEEKS! yikes. We'll see what happens with that. Saturdays forecast is a trip to Costco! Way past due and I'm looking forward to some food in the freezer : )
That's about it this week. Sabrina and I are going to run down to the sound and take a pic with her Flat Stanley and get that mailed out today. fun fun fun

Sabrina had Christmas in Feb. Her Nana has been sewing THE cutest clothes and she found a fabulous sale. Who can pass up girl clothes on sale??? Not Nana! I'm going to take pics of her in all these new clothes but right now we've got a pic of her in her new saddle shoes! Nana was worried Sabrina wouldn't like them.... NOT a problem! She LOVES them. Now I understand more why it's hard for people to keep up on their blogs when they have a job outside the home! I used to be so disappointed when certain people went 2 weeks without entertaining ME with their new blog entries! Wow.. Now I completely understand ; ) I am very happy to be working and have a job I really enjoy. I'm learning so much... engaging my brain again. Love that. I'm not so used to feeling so stretched thin. (unfortunately this is ONLY figuratively speaking... darn) I still have all the same household things to do and the same number of people who want my undivided attention and phone calls I WANT to make and visit and this blog I'd like to post on and scrapbooking to do and.......... I'm preachin' to the choir aren't I? I am just darn grateful for all the time I had to JUST be mom and wife and sneak in some Rachel time and I'm darn grateful for the time to work now. Hubby is now wanting wife time so I'm done for the night on this. I'll try to post pics and fill you in on what's been going on here! Oh yeah... big day in our house: Spencer passed his driving test with a 96% and is currently a licensed driver!!!!!! Sabrina was in a play this past Saturday and had a blast. She played a chameleon in a play "loosely" based on Robinson Crusoe.

He's taking his S.A.T. test this am. I'm praying he does great. I know he's super smart, he just hates taking tests! Spencer's at work and Sabrina has a friend over. Yes, I'm 37 now. I thought I would feel old yesterday morning when I woke up and realized I was further from 35 and closer to 40. I don't though. I feel blessed. I have healthy happy children and a wonderful marriage. I have great relationships with my family members.... how I can I feel sad about getting older?? I had a yummy cheesecake with raspberries on it yesterday for birthday dessert, yumm!

Friday morning I took a quick pic of the river flowing near my house. I took the pic from a block away assuming that when I got off of work that afternoon I could park and walk up and take a picture. If you've seen the pics on the news of the Pacific Northwest, you've seen that it's pretty horrific flooding conditions over here. Praise Jesus... we're ok so far. I can however see a very large river flowing much closer to my neighborhood than I like. I pray it shouldn't make it to our yard though. I'll take some pics tomorrow and post them. It really is magnificent.... mother nature.

I have behaved so well. Then I got my first (very small and already spent on college appl. fees and test fees for Alex) paycheck. I was getting some things for James at Macy's with his giftcards. The sales lady was outstanding. I saw THE cutest dress for Sabrina EVER. Does she need it.... no. Should I have bought it NO!! I am still on the line about returning it, so she hasn't worn it yet. But OMG is it so cute!!! Can you see why I caved??? Pray for more strength in 2009!

PLAYROOM CURTAINS

We are blessed with some one of a kind, handmade items in our home. My mom is an amazing seamstress! These curtains she made for Sabrina's playroom. They are PERFECT for her play space. We LOVE them!! We hung the curtain rod too high, but Sabrina doesn't want us to lower it because she likes to see under them! Go figure!

ps.. the two ceramic sheep above her window were in me and my little sister's room when we were sooo little. Younger than Sabrina is!

I can't believe it's Christmas Eve. I think this is the first year ever in our married life where it's just my own family. Kind of sad and miss everyone. I cheated on the family pajama tradition. No one here to make me feel bad if I did?! heehee Sabrina and I took a shower this evening (I know, we were soooo lazy today!) When she got out of the shower I gave her her new jammies. I didn't make her wait until bedtime. I didn't need them to blackmail her to bed though. She's so excited to have a sleepover with both of her big brothers out in Alex's room. I posted a pic of her fresh out of the shower in this years jammies!

SNOW STORM 2008

Every where we move to the biggest storm in decades or even centuries happens. James HATES snow, but here it comes. We are buried in it here and what's best is that this area is NOT prepared for heavy snow. None of the roads are plowed, people do NOT know how to drive here in the snow... we didn't put snow tires on because it doesn't snow enough here to spend $400-$600 per car on tires.

This week Sabrina had her dance performance at a retirement home and her 1st grade music program. The boys coached b-ball this week too. School is out for snow day today and I'm definetly expecting it to be cancelled again tomorrow! We're supposed to get 2 more inches between now and midnight! We've got at least 6 inches right now. wow oh yeah.... Sabrina cheered at the last basketball game!

Spencer earned his letter this year in football! The banquet was so long, but it was really neat to see him and a couple of his good friends get their letters!

Sabrina's school had a fundraiser this fall. If you sold $200 worth you earned a limo ride to a local restaraunt and lunch. Then they had a party back at the school. Spencer thought that was the coolest idea ever so he helped her sell $200 worth. These pics are of her at the restaraunt, in the limo and the actual limo. What a great time the kids had! Very original idea the PTO had. I'm sure she'll make sure she sells as many next year!

ITS A BUSY TIME OF YEAR!

It doesn't feel like I've had a lot going on but yet I'm busy ALL the time! Recitals for Sabrina, football banquet for Spencer, driver's ed for Spencer! omg..... that is 3 nights a week driving there and back and there and back again. ugh.. I will be so happy when he gets his license. I used to think I would dread them driving.... now I know better!

James and I went Christmas shopping on Tuesday. We hit the sale of all sales. What an AWESOME day. I had one gift to buy yesterday and now I'm done. Feels good, but sad too. I wish I had more money so I could send gifts to everyone. Ya know?

I love this time of year. It makes me appreciate everything we have. Compassion for the less fortunate.

I made a HUGE mistake and I'm very sorry about it. I didn't mention by name, in my Thanksgiving gratitude post, another family member and her family that are important to me. My error in no way means that I care any less for them than any of the rest of my family so please accept my appology Angela. I have no recent pics of her and her family because unfortunately we never get the opportunity to see each other. She is a successful employee for the fish and game department in Montana and did I say.... the first female hired in the state in her department. She is a fabulous, kind- hearted person who is an amazing mother to her step sons. She would do anything for you and is a very gifted artist. I'm very proud of her and I love her and miss her alot!
